RedStorm reserves close season at OCU

     WILLIAMSPORT, Ohio - The University of Rio Grande men's golf reserve team closed out its 2026 Spring schedule by tying for third place in the Ohio Christian University Invitational.
     The 36-hole event wrapped up on Tuesday at the Crown Hill Golf Club.
     Rio Grande tied the host Trailblazers by finishing with a team total of 83-over par 659. OCU forged the deadlock with a final round of 43-over par, making up two strokes on the RedStorm.
     Kentucky Christian University won the team title at 77-over par 653, while Alice Lloyd College grabbed runner-up honors at 81-over par 657.
     Ohio Christian's Judah Layton took medalist honors at 11-over par 155.
     Rio Grande's top individual performance came from freshman Floris Everwijn (Amsterdam, The Netherlands), who was fourth at 14-over par 158.
     Also representing the RedStorm was freshman Conner Roe (Rio Grande, OH), who tied for sixth place with a 17-over par 161; junior Connor Ingels (New Haven, WV), who finished 15th at 25-over par 169; freshman Wyatt McCune (Coolville, OH), who was 18th after finishing at 28-over 172; and freshman Valerio De Angelis (Rome, Italy), who tied for 19th at 30-over par 174.
     Playing as individuals for Rio in the 28-player field was freshman Joel Jepson (Norrtalje, Sweden), who was 10th at 19-over par 163; freshman Deo Alvarez (Veracruz, Mexico), who tied for 16th place after carding a 27-over par 171; and senior Tanner Lisle (Racine, OH), who took 27th place at 43-over 187.
