Rio rallies, takes dual from Eagles

     MIDWAY, Ky. - The University of Rio Grande rallied from an early 18-0 deficit, winning five of the final six matches to post a 27-23 win over Midway University, Friday night, in a Mid-South Conference men's wrestling dual at Marshall Gymnasium.
     The RedStorm improved their dual record to 3-0 with the victory.
     The night began with a forfeit loss to Zach Lewis at 125 pounds and was followed by three consecutive losses on the mat, giving the host Eagles a commanding early lead.
     Freshman Jaydon DeHart (Ashland, KY) lost by technical fall, 16-1 at 4:30, of his 133-pound bout with Matthew Bryant, while junior Trey Allen (Mechanicsburg, OH) dropped a 9-8 decision to Logan Brown at 141 pounds and sophomore Conner Blessing (Point Pleasant, WV) came up on the short end of a 16-4 majority decision at the hands of Nolan Jones at 149 pounds.
     The RedStorm caught fire from that point on, though.
     Senior Westyn Moyer (Urbana, OH), who is ranked No. 22 nationally at 157 pounds, pinned Chris Begley at the 2:15 mark, while junior Pate Eastin (Granger, IN) - ranked 21st at 165 pounds - earned a forfeit win.
     Midway's Michael Colligan posted a 24-9 technical fall win over freshman John Walters (Ashland, KY) at the 7:00 mark of their 174-pound bout, but senior Justin Bartee (Point Pleasant, WV) - ranked 19th at 184 pounds - regained the momentum with a 4-2 decision over Sebastian Hutchinson.
     The night concluded with senior Ashton Simison (Enon, OH) pinning Oscar Adams just 19 seconds into their 197-pound match and senior Bruce Wagers (Cincinnati, OH) - ranked 18th at 285 pounds - pinning Anthony Popi at 2:27 to seal Rio's come-from-behind effort.
     The RedStorm will return to action next Saturday at the Life University open in Douglasville, Ga.
