Montgomery leads Rio women at Marshall Invite

     HUNTINGTON, W.Va. - Kylie Montgomery ran to a runner-up finish in the 400-meter run, highlighting the day for the University of Rio Grande women's indoor track and field team in Saturday's Marshall Alumni Invitational at the Chris Cline Athletic Complex.
     Montgomery, a sophomore from Coal Grove, Ohio, finished second with a time of 59.84 and was the only NAIA runner to finish in the event's top 10.
     Three other individuals and one relay unit representing the RedStorm also recorded Top 10 outings.
     Freshman Joleigh Nott (Gallipolis Ferry, WV) grabbed fourth place in the 600-meter run with a time of 1:45.11, while junior Laura Hamm (South Point, OH) was seventh in the 1,000-meter run after crossing the finish line in 3:09.78 and freshman Marley Kreischer (Oak Hill, OH) was ninth in the 1,000 with a time of 3:18.92.
     Rio's 4x400 relay team, which included the quarter of Montgomery, Hamm, Kresicher and freshman Madison Dunn (Manchester, OH), was 10th in 4:25.64.
     The RedStorm are slated to return to the track on Friday at the Youngstown State University Invitational.
