Rio Grande/NAIA Sports Information
PARK CITY, Kan. - Alexandria Evans will represent the University of Rio Grande in the 2026 NAIA Women's Wrestling National Championships hosted by Visit Wichita, Friday and Saturday, at Heartland Credit Union.
Evans, a freshman from Barboursville, W.Va., earned her spot as an automatic qualifier after finishing fourth in the 103-pound division of the Mid-South Conference Championship.
Each conference tournament awards automatic bids per weight class based on the final regular-season rating. Each conference is awarded automatic berths based on the number of wrestlers ranked in each weight class.
Each conference is awarded a minimum of one automatic bid per weight class, which goes to the tournament champions, even if the conference did not have any wrestlers ranked in the final regular-season rating. If a conference does not have an individual ranked in the final top 17, an allocation will be granted to ensure each conference is represented at each weight class at the National Championships.
Evans received a first round bye and will face seventh-seeded Alexis Miller from Oklahoma City University in her opening bout on Friday..
